"These are the people destroying the country while the working people try to build it back together"

Mark Tyers: Who are Numskulls and how would you describe your music?

Numskulls: Numskulls are try hards; shooting for the moon but usually ending up on their arse.  We play a mix of punk, punk rock, thrash punk, pop punk garage punk and disco...not so much disco.  Our song lyrics vary between conceptual (4 Horsemen), Unity (Open Doors) [and], Isolation (In the Dark).  But all usually have the feel of distain and disgust for anyone or thing having the thought of being better than anyone else.  Through our music we want to spread positivity, respect and unity.  Afterall we are all the same decaying life form made from carbon.

MT: Why are you opposed to the Tory government?

Numskulls: We are against the Tory government because they seen hell bent on forging a divide between  the rich and poor.  Austerity is shit and we should be looking at the bankers taking huge bonuses and mulitnational corporations avoiding paying tax - these are the people destroying the country while the working people try to build it back together.  Good old "Tessy May" wasn't even voted in by the people at first, and that joke of an election she recently has shows the farce that is the Tories.

MT: What role do you think music and gigs like Music for the Many can play in ending austerity and bringing down Theresa May's government?

Numskulls: Music is a weapon that people of any age, race, gender and orientation can utilise  to spread a message.  For me, music is my life, my blood, it means everything to me.  I remember being a kid and listening to my friend's dad's  45s.  The greats; The Clash.  Then learning the history; i.e. Brixton Riots, Bob Marley and his teachings of love.  Music has taught me so much and we need to keep it up!  There is  passion in anything we create, and if we keep focused towards our goal we can achieve anything.
